St Patrick’s Day Crafts – DIY Badges
Another little quick green craft to get the kiddos into the mood for Leprechaun season. With just a sheet of paper, pieces of cardboard and a safety pin your little ones will be stepping out in style for the parade.
The first shamrock one passed the ‘that’s coooool’ test here with Miss7 and inspired her to create a cute Leprechaun one of her own :)

St Patrick’s Day Crafts – Making Badges
First select your papers – you will need two rectangles approx 90mm x 180mm of the same colour/pattern, and two thin strips of a contrasting colour/pattern for the ribbons 100 x 25mm. I have a book of scrapbooking papers I dip into on occasions like this – plain coloured craft paper will work just as well.
-
-
Concertina fold two strips of the paper.
-
-
Next fold over the concertina strip over in half and glue the edge together to create a semi-circle.
-
-
Then glue the two straight edge of the semi-circles together.
-
-
Now it’s time for the cuteness….
Cut out one thin cardboard disc, approx 60mm diameter, and glue to the face of the badge.
-
-
On the second disc, approx 40mm in diameter, draw your character and glue to the front.
-
-
Cut two ribbon edge strips of paper and glue or cellotape to the back of the badge. Cover with a circle of white paper.
Put one drop of hot glue into the centre and stand a safety pin into the glue and leave to dry.
-
-
tada….. you have lovely unique badges to wear on the day of the parades.
-
This badge tutorial could easily be replicated for birthdays, sports days, olympic parties etc by changing the characters illustrated on the discs.
